Quartz questions, answered
Is quartz really maintenance-free?
Essentially yes — it's nonporous, so it never needs sealing and resists stains, bacteria and mildew. Soap and water is all the care it needs.
Can quartz handle heat?
Use a trivet for very hot pans. The resin in engineered quartz can discolor above ~300°F.
Why do quartz prices vary so much?
Design complexity. Plain colors start at $45/sf installed; realistic marble-look veining like Calacatta patterns runs $55–70/sf.
